AirCheck Case Study # 501

What happens when rotation doesn't mean what you think it means?

A client had two very different commercials airing, and both needed to be broadcast in even rotation.

AirCheck monitoring noticed that within the first week of the schedule, two stations at the same regional hub were playing the tracks in rotation between the stations, rather than on each individual station.

This meant that listeners of Station One only heard track A, and Station Two only heard track B, rather than both messages airing across both stations.

As the demographics of the two stations are vastly different, the messages of both commercials were not being heard by all listeners.

AirCheck picked this up immediately, potentially saving the client thousands of dollars in make good spots, and saving the station more airtime going to waste.  This simple production carting error could have lasted the entire campaign, without the quick action of the AirCheck team.
